Our trade organisation Danish Fashion & Textile has in collaboration with Danish Fashion Institute and WEAR drawn up a new ethical charter, which has a focus on the core values that deals with responsibility, brotherly respect and health, also in relation to the beauty ideal that the fashion industry is taking part in presenting.
Of course, we have joined this charter.
Social responsibility at BLACK SWAN
The collections are designed from the newest trends and colours which we find in trend books, inspiration from the trips we take to various fashion metropolis - and last but not least, evaluated by what we ourselves would wear, what is practical, can be washed, is it long-lasting and what suits us. The collections are designed and produced in close collaboration with our suppliers in respectively Turkey, Portugal and China.
BLACK SWAN produces and trade via well-established Danish agents with offices in respectively Istanbul, Portugal and Shanghai. It is local employees under Danish management who in close collaboration with us follow and check up on the initiated samples/production at our suppliers. Naturally, our products are always quality controlled before they leave the supplier. Unfortunately, flaws and deficiencies can occur.
Regarding production, BLACK SWAN naturally has a focus on good conditions, responsibility and care for the environment. Collaboration with suppliers is based on mutual trust, close and daily communication and respect of our personal standards. Furthermore, we at BLACK SWAN strive to use suppliers who are BSCI certified. BSCI Code of Conduct is based on the most important international work norms, which protect employee rights and among others secure a working place which is not dangerous to health, no child labour, respecting working hours etc.
